Cancer Care Team
Our cancer centre is focused on the provision of an excellent standard of care to all patients who attend the facility. We work to ensure compliance with international and national standards including the HIQA guidelines on breast disease and the National Cancer Control Programme standards on Cervical Cancer Services.
The complexity of diagnosing and treating cancer often requires the collaboration of various clinical and medical experts. This multidisciplinary team, known as the cancer care team, plays an essential role in the patient's cancer treatment journey.
Treatment team
Cancer treatment is led by our expert team of consultant oncologists, consisting of:
- Medical oncologists
- Radiation oncologists
- Surgical oncologists
Nursing team
The nursing team play an important role in supporting you throughout each step of your cancer journey. Within the Cancer Centre, the nursing team consists of:
- Oncology nurses
- Staff nurses
Diagnostic team
The diagnostic team provides your care team with important information based on your blood, imaging and diagnostic testing results. The diagnostic team consists of:
- Radiologists
- Pathologists
