Mater Private Cork Hospital is located 6km from the city centre at Citygate, Mahon, off the Link Road (R852).
It is accessible by car, bus or taxi from the City Centre. There is set-down/drop-off at the front door of the hospital.
From the M8 southbound
Continue straight onto the N40. After crossing the Lee, come off the N40 at the first exit, signposted R852 (Mahon/Blackrock). Take the third right onto St. Michael’s Drive, and then the first right into Citygate. Follow the one-way signs around to the left until you reach the hospital
From the R600
Continue onto the N27. Take the third road off the Kinsale roundabout onto the N40 (South Ring Road). Take exit 10 for Mahon / Blackrock / Mahon Point. At the junction, turn left onto the R852. Continue straight through the traffic lights at Mahon Point and Mahon Retail Park. City Gate is on the right after Mahon Point and Mahon Retail Park. Turn right and take the entrance into City Gate on your immediate right. Mater Private Cork is on the right-hand side.
From the N22
Follow N22 onto the N40. Take the exit signed for Mahon / Blackrock / Mahon Point. At the junction, turn left onto the R852. Continue straight through the traffic lights at Mahon Point and Mahon Retail Park. City Gate is on the right after Mahon Point and Mahon Retail Park. Turn right and take the entrance into City Gate on your immediate right. Mater Private Cork is on the right-hand side.
There is free car parking available. After turning into Citygate continue forward to the underground car park.
Look for the designated Mater Private Network car parking slots.
Route No. 215 or 215A | Direction Cloghroe | Stop: Citygate
Take the 215 or 215A bus from the South Mall in the City Centre. The journey takes approximately 15 minutes. Disembark at the Citygate stop and walk to the right. Mater Private Hospital Cork is a 2 minute walk from the stop.
Route No. 219 | Direction Mahon Point | Stop: Citygate
Take the 219 bus and disembark at the Citygate stop (last stop) and walk to the right. Mater Private Network Cork is a 2-minute walk from the stop.
Route 742 or 202 | Direction Mahon Point Omniplex | Stop: Skehard Lawn
Take the 742 or 202 bus and disembark at the Skehard Lawn Stop. Cross the road and take the 1st right turn. Walk for approximately 9 minutes. Mater Private Cork will be on the left side of the road.
From Dublin
Take the train to Kent Station, Cork from Heuston Station. Get off the train at Kent Station, exit the station, turn left and walk towards Brian Boru Street. Cross the bridge towards Clontarf Street. Turn left and then keep left onto Anglesea Street. Get on the 215A or the 215 bus going towards Cloghroe, outside City Hall. Get off the bus at City Gate. Walk to your right for approximately one minute. You will arrive at Mater Private Cork.

Café: Mater Private Cork has an on-site café which is open to the public and serves a variety of meals. There are also a number of cafés nearby and in Mahonpoint Shopping Centre. Please check Google Maps to see what’s available.
Shop: there are a number of petrol stations with shops within a five minute walk, as well as Supervalu on the Skehard Road (R852).
