Laboratory Medical Scientist – Quality Officer

We're seeking a laboratory medical scientist – quality officer with a strong focus on detail and quality management to strengthen our pathology laboratory team.

Purpose of post:

To provide a comprehensive administrative service supporting the laboratory quality management system. This includes providing administrative support to the quality co-ordinator and assisting with the co-ordination of quality activities / initiatives in the pathology laboratory.

The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of critical tasks supporting our quality framework, including:

• Incident reporting management
• Document control and management
• Education and communication support
• Clinical indicators and data collection
• General quality and administrative duties
• Professional qualifications, essential skills and knowledge

Required Skills and Experience: 

• Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (or equivalent) is desirable
• Previous quality management experience would be an advantage
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a clinical diagnostic laboratory
• Sound knowledge, awareness and experience of administration
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word), strong Excel desirable 
• Previous experience of working with quality standards i.e. ISO 15189 essential
• Support in the raising of non-conformances as appropriate on PERL QRM or other system
• Support in complying with the quality management system that meets the requirements of ISO 15189 and JCI accreditation standards
• Experience with Q-pulse essential 
• Experience in auditing preferable
• Discretion and ability to use initiative
