At Mater Private Network Cork, we offer personalised physiotherapy services to support patients as they recover from surgery, enhancing mobility and overall well-being. Our dedicated team of physiotherapists brings extensive experience and advanced clinical skills to every treatment plan.
The physiotherapy department Mater Private Network Cork is open:
- Monday to Friday 8:30am - 7:30pm.
We offer both inpatient and outpatient services (Mondays only). Our services are available for patients who have had prior surgery or treatment in Mater Private Network only. Each patient who requires physiotherapy will be referred to the department by their care team within our network.
Outpatient Services
Musculoskeletal physiotherapy services
Our musculoskeletal outpatient services are tailored to your needs to help you prepare for, and recover from your surgery.

- Joints disorders
- Muscle, ligament and tendon injuries
- Back and neck
- Falls prevention
- Pre- and post-operative support
Our pre- and post-operative support programme for patients undergoing joint replacement or disc surgery includes:
- Prehabilitation (prior to surgery)
- Rehabilitation
- Post-operative support and advice
- Falls prevention strategies and exercises
- Pain and mobility management
- Manual therapy (incl. massage, joint mobilisation, manipulation)
- Personalised exercise programmes
- Taping
- Equipment advice and prescriptions (e.g crutches, walking sticks
- Cardiac Rehabilitation – Referral from a cardiologist required prior to attending
Please note that our outpatient physiotherapy service is only available for patients who have had surgery at Mater Private Hospital Cork.
Inpatient Services
Our inpatient physiotherapy team covers a wide range of areas and conditions. The areas that we provide support and treatment for include orthopaedics, respiratory, cardiac surgery, medical rehabilitation, ICU, and care of the elderly. Consults to the Emergency Department are also provided if required.
You are provided with an individual assessment and diagnosis, and treatment options as required. . All treatments are discussed with you and are tailored to your individual needs.
