Education & Experience

Prof. Brendan Kinsley is a consultant endocrinologist at Mater Private Hospital. Prof. Kinsley is a medical graduate of UCC. He subsequently trained in University College Hospital Galway and the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital before moving to The Joslin Diabetes Centre, Harvard Medical School, Boston, for a clinical and research fellowship in diabetes mellitus and endocrinology. Research interests at that time were in hormone responses to hypoglycaemia. Prof. Kinsley subsequently worked as an attending physician at the Joslin Diabetes Centre and Brigham and Women’s Hospitals in Boston. He was appointed a Consultant Endocrinologist at the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital in 1999.

Special Interests

Prof. Kinsley has an interest in diabetes mellitus and endocrine disorders in pregnancy, autonomic dysfunction in diabetes and hypoglycaemia.
