About
Education & Experience
Dr. Gopal is a consultant in anaesthesia and pain medicine at Mater Misericordiae University Hospital Dublin and Mater Private Hospital Dublin.
He undertook a two year fellowship in pain medicine in Ireland. Upon completion Dr. Gopal took up the role of chronic pain research fellow at Trinity College Institute of Neuroscience. Later he undertook further training in chronic pain at The Pain Centre, Erasmus MC, Rotterdam.
Special Interests
Cortical and sub-cortical changes in CNS in acute and chronic pain.
Clinical Research & Professional Memberships
His current work at Mater Misericordiae University Hospital involves the development of multi-disciplinary pain management services and interventional pain therapies including neuromodulation of dorsal root ganglion. Dr. Gopal is a member of the World Institute of Pain and a fellow of Interventional Pain Practice (FIPP) and a fellow of Faculty of Pain Medicine, College of Anaesthetists, Ireland (FPMCAI).
