About

Education & Experience  

Having moved to Ireland in 2013, Dr. Anjum has worked as a consultant gastroenterologist/physician in various HSE hospitals including Mid-West Regional Hospital Limerick, Ennis Hospital and Mercy University Hospital Cork. He was part of Bowel Screening programme in Ireland for seven years.  

Dr. Anjum was awarded The Berenson International Scholarship in Advanced Endoscopy at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Harvard Medical School Boston MA in 2016. Having graduated from Dow Medical College Pakistan in 2002 and after completing internship, he started his training in GIM and gastroenterology at Shaikh Zayed Hospital Lahore which is the tertiary referral centre for gastroenterology and liver diseases. 

After completing his training in gastroenterology, he did his fellowship in advance endoscopic procedures in 2012 and started his career as consultant gastroenterologist at Shaikh Zayed hospital Lahore. 

Special Interests  

Dr. Anjum joined Mater Private Cork from Mid-West Regional Hospital Limerick/Ennis Hospital with special interest in therapeutic endoscopy, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), general gastroenterology including coeliac disease, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
