What are endocrine disorders? 

The endocrine system is made up of a number of different glands that produce and secrete hormones that regulate various bodily functions. Endocrine disorders are diseases related to hormones, including the glands and tissues that secrete these hormones. 


What are the most common endocrine disorders?  

Diabetes is the best known endocrine disorder, but other commonly treated endocrine conditions include: 

  • Thyroid disease 
  • Polycystic ovary syndrome 
  • Osteoporosis 
  • Disorders of calcium metabolism 
  • Pituitary disorders 
  • Adrenal disorders
