Education & Experience

Dr. Wilby Williamson trained in medicine at the University of Nottingham and completed higher specialist training in Sports and Exercise Medicine through leading academic centres in Oxford and Cambridge. He holds a DPhil in Cardiovascular Medicine from the University of Oxford and has completed fellowship training in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona, USA. With over twenty years’ experience across public and private healthcare in Ireland and the UK, he has held senior consultant and clinical leadership roles, with a particular focus on preventive care, rehabilitation and integrated clinical pathway design.

Special Interests

Dr. Williamson’s clinical interests centre on preventive and personalised medicine, including comprehensive health assessments and Healthcheck services. He specialises in cardiovascular and metabolic risk prevention, brain health and healthy ageing, musculoskeletal and sports-related conditions, and rehabilitation following illness or injury. His approach integrates advanced diagnostics, lifestyle and exercise medicine, and coordinated multidisciplinary care to support long-term health, performance and disease prevention. Patients may self-refer for preventive health and integrated health assessments.

Clinical Research & Professional Memberships

Dr. Williamson is an Assistant Professor of Physiology at Trinity College Dublin and an active clinical researcher with over 40 peer-reviewed publications. He has led or collaborated on research programmes exceeding €12 million in funding across exercise medicine, cardiovascular disease and brain health. He is on the Irish Medical Council Specialist Register for Sports and Exercise Medicine, is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians, and serves on the Board of the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine, Ireland.
