About

Dr. Magid Awadalla is a Consultant Cardiologist at Mater Private Network in Dublin.

Education & Experience 

Dr. Awadalla graduated from RCSI in 2009 and completed his basic specialist training in internal medicine in Dublin. He completed his higher specialist training in cardiology in Wales, UK, followed by a fellowship in advanced cardiac imaging at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School in Boston, USA.

During his time in Boston, Dr. Awadalla was heavily involved in research and authored multiple papers, particularly focusing on the use of novel cardiac imaging techniques that aid earlier detection of cardiac toxicity following chemotherapy/radiotherapy among patients with cancer.

Special Interests 

Advanced cardiac imaging (echocardiography, cardiac CT and cardiac MRI) and cardio-oncology.

Clinical Research & Professional Memberships 

Dr. Awadalla was a finalist at the Global Cardio Oncology Summit Young Investigator Awards 2018, and maintains memberships with the International Cardio Oncology Society, European Society of Cardiology and European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging. Dr. Awadalla has published numerous manuscripts and book chapters in the field of Cardio-Oncology, including in leading journals (Journal of American College of Cardiology, European Heart Journal, and Circulation) and textbooks (The ESC Textbook of Cardiovascular Medicine).
