Education & Experience

Dr. Issam Hajjaji graduated from the Medical School, Trinity College Dublin (MB BCh BAO) in 1984. He completed his postgraduate training in the UK in general medicine, endocrinology and diabetes (MRCP(UK) 1989, FRCP(Lon) 2008, FRCP(Edin) 2012). Dr. Hajjaji was previously the head of department of diabetes, National Centre for Diabetes and Endocrinology, Tripoli in Libya, and the President of the Libyan Association for Diabetes and Endocrinology and professor of medicine, Tripoli University. He has over 30 years’ experience in diabetes and its complications.

 

Special interests

Special interest in obesity and the metabolic syndrome.

 

Clinical Research & Professional Memberships

Dr. Hajjaji has over 40 publications on diabetes including A1chieve, the largest observational insulin study, and is the senior editor in the International Journal of Clinical Practice (UK).
