Dr. Anusha Prem Kumar is a consultant endocrinologist and general physician at Mater Private Network, Dublin.

Education & Experience 

Dr. Prem Kumar graduated from the University College Dublin School of Medicine in 2011, obtaining an honours degree. She has trained in various teaching hospitals in Ireland gaining broad expertise in managing a range of endocrine conditions. She became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians Ireland in 2015, and completed dual-specialist training in Diabetes and Endocrinology and Internal Medicine in 2022. She also holds the Specialty Certificate in Endocrinology and Diabetes from the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom.

Clinical Research & Professional Memberships 

Dr. Prem Kumar’s primary research focus is on the effect of GLP-1 receptor agonist therapies on cardiovascular disease, via their effect on platelet function and endothelial dysfunction. In addition to this work, she has presented and published her work on a variety of other areas of endocrinology at national and international conferences. Additionally, she has a strong interest in quality improvement in healthcare and medical education, having earned awards for her work in these areas. She is a member of various international professional organisations including the Endocrine Society and the American Diabetes Association.
