Mater Private Network is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic senior orthopaedic physiotherapist to join the physiotherapy department.

 

Purpose of post:

  • To manage the orthopaedic services provided by the physiotherapy department, ensuring that standards are maintained, including training of physiotherapy staff and maintenance of equipment.
  • To provide services to patients to develop, maintain and restore maximum movement and functional ability based on the physiotherapist assessment, diagnostic planning, intervention and evaluation.
  • Work in cooperation with the multi disciplinary team to provide an excellent service.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of the team for the implementation of a orthopaedic strategy under the direction of the director of clinical services.
  • Maintain and upgrade evaluation and treatment skills.
  • Evaluate patients’ problems subjectively and objectively and document via SOAP format.
  • Assess patients’ problems and formulate appropriate treatment plan.
  • To contribute to the forward planning and development of the physiotherapy service.
  • Ensure patient understands nature of examination and treatments.

Requirements Include:

  • Possess a university qualification in Physiotherapy such as the Bachelor in Physiotherapy (Hons) degree from the National University of Ireland or equivalent.
  • Be a member of or be eligible for membership of the Irish Society of Senior Chartered Physiotherapists.
  • Have a minimum of three years post qualification experience.
  • Awareness / sensitivity toward patient needs.
  • To show initiative and work without direct supervision.
  • Key to this role is that the candidate has a proven track record of a positive attitude and a can-do approach which is demonstrated in their excellent interpersonal skills.
