About our centre

In 2022, as part of our ongoing commitment to improving health services for women in Ireland, we opened the Centre for Women’s Health in Mater Private Network, Cork. This hospital-based, dedicated centre first major step forward in our delivery of women’s care and is the first of its kind in Ireland. 

Our multidisciplinary team provides specialist and coordinated care across a wide range of women’s health areas such as gynaecology, urogynaecology, pre and post-obstetric care, and menopause/perimenopause. Our team of consultants, general practitioner, nursing staff and allied health professionals work together to diagnose your condition, and to plan and deliver the most appropriate treatment for your medical situation. If your issue requires onward referral, we have access to our extensive hospital network of expert care in the areas of cardiology, pelvic health, gastroenterology, colorectal, general surgery, rheumatology and more.

Mater Private Network's Centre for Women's Health is a designated hospital-based centre, offering consultation, surgical and non-surgical treatment, diagnostic services (testing) and patient support in the following areas: 

• Gynaecology
• Urogynaecology
• Pre-and-post obstetric care
• Sexual health
• Plastic and reconstructive surgery
• Contraception
• Perimenopause/Menopause
• Minimally invasive surgery
