About this service

For those attending Mater Private Diabetes & Endocrine Centre for the first time, we offer a consultant-led programme designed to offer you all the information and professional support you need to manage your diabetes. Our goal is to achieve optimum control of your diabetes and to manage any existing complications.

Who is it for?

This programme is available for all new patients to the centre, whether newly or previously diagnosed with diabetes.

Programme details

The programme includes an in-depth consultation with the team:

  • Consultant endocrinologist - consultation, assessment and treatment plan.
  • Diabetes nurse specialist - personalised education and support to achieve good diabetes control and management.
  • Diabetes dietitian - diet assessment and personalised advice.
  • A follow-up visit with the diabetes nurse or dietitian at six weeks is planned if necessary, in order to monitor your progress.
