Mater Private Cardiac Transfer Service - Matt's Story

Matt recently availed of our Cardiac Transfer Service

Many patients who present to public hospitals with cardiac symptoms and who have private health insurance are unaware that they can avail of the Mater Private’s Cardiac Transfer Service. This service transfers patients from public hospitals to the Mater Private for their procedure where they are offered rapid access to three state-of-the art cath labs and a team of over 20 cardiologists operating twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

One patient who availed of this service is Matt McManus aged 79 from Lucan who was brought to the Emergency Department in Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown by his daughter Marion. After being told that her father would have to wait until the weekend for an angiogram, Marion stated “I asked the duty nurse about my father’s health insurance and enquired whether he was eligible for the Mater Private cardiac transfer service.” Marion further went on to say that “sure enough when dad was fit for the transfer he was sent to the Mater Private, the angiogram went well and he was returned to Connolly the same day.”
