Dublin’s Mater Private has appointed David Slevin as General Manager of the hospital’s Heart and Vascular Centre, Ireland's foremost centre for cardiac care. He will lead a multi-disciplinary team of Consultants and specialists, who are among Ireland’s leading experts in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with conditions such as Coronary Artery Disease, Cardiac Rhythm Disorders, Cardiac Imaging, Heart Failure, Structural Heart and Vascular Disease.
Welcoming David Slevin to the Mater Private Hospital, Mater Private Group Chief Executive & Cardiothoracic Surgeon, John Hurley said, “With an outstanding professional background that includes successfully leading Tallaght University Hospital for five years, we are delighted that someone of David’s calibre is joining our team. In addition to executive leadership roles at Tallaght and Crumlin Hospital, he has also been responsible for spearheading significant development within the Dublin Midlands Hospital Group, helping to transform healthcare delivery and service.”

In his previous role, David served as Chief Executive of Tallaght University Hospital, where from 2013-2018 he was responsible for devising an ambitious €150M capital development programme; the first phase of which included the deployment of €75M of investment over years 2018-2020 in a new elective day-surgery unit, a new Renal Dialysis unit and a new Paediatric Outpatient and Urgent Care Centre. Prior to his Chief Executive role, David served as the Director of Finance at Tallaght from 2012 -2013, where he played a significant leadership role in stabilising the organisation’s finances and fostering stronger relations with the HSE and the Department of Health.
Prior to his career with Tallaght University Hospital, Mr. Slevin was Director of Finance at Crumlin Hospital and worked for a period as a Management Accountant with St. James's Hospital.
David Slevin is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and holds an Executive MBA from UCD Smurfit Business School.
