MATER Private Cork is delighted to announce the arrival of new Consultant Rheumatologist and General Internal Medicine, Dr Len Harty.
Dr Harty completed undergraduate medical education in UCD in 2005 followed by higher specialist training in rheumatology and general internal medicine with the RCPI. He was awarded a EULAR postgraduate certificate in rheumatology in 2010, has more than 17 peer viewed publications, has presented to learned societies on more than 60 occasions and has won national and international awards for his research.
He was awarded a PhD by UCD in 2012 for his thesis on the therapy and research of rheumatoid arthritis and spondyloarthritis and he subsequently undertook a 2 year tenure as an honorary consultant in the Department of Vasculitis and Lupus in Addenbrooke’s Hospital Cambridge.

He is proficient in the investigation and management of autoimmune connective tissue disorders such as SLE, scleroderma and Behcets disease, autoimmune inflammatory arthritis and crystalline (gout) arthritis, osteoarthritis and regional pain syndromes.”
Dr Len Harty is an active member of the Irish Society of Rheumatology, the UK & Ireland Vasculitis Society and the European Vasculitis Society, is an Irish Heart Foundation appointed ACLS medical director and regularly engages in both postgraduate and undergraduate medical education.
