The Urgent Cardiac Care Service at Mater Private Cork remains open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

Following the announcement of An Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar TD on Monday 30th March 2020, and the subsequent agreement to make private healthcare facilities available as part of a co-ordinated National Emergency response to the SARS-Cov/Covid-19 outbreak, there is no charge at present for ALL patients who are referred to the service.

All patients will be treated and seen by our expert team of cardiologists and cardiac care nursing staff. We offer:

  • Prompt and Comprehensive Assessment
  • Rapid Access to Non-Invasive Cardiology Services
  • Immediate Cath Lab Access if required
  • Immediate Phone Triage by Cardiology Nurse Specialist
  • Same-day Cardiologist Consultant Evaluation

In order to protect vulnerable patients and frontline healthcare staff from SARS-Cov/Covid-19 infection, we continue to perform telephone triage all referrals with our nurse specialist to exclude patients with potential Covid-19.

Patients with symptoms suggestive of Covid-19 (fever and/or cough, respiratory illness symptoms), patients who have returned from abroad anywhere worldwide, patients instructed to self-isolate due to confirmed Covid-19 or due to contact with Covid-19, should be referred to designated Covid-19 receiving hospitals.
