Mater Private Cork Chooses Cope Foundation As Charity Partner for 2018
MATER Private Hospital Cork has announced that it has nominated Cork’s Cope Foundation as its Charity Partner for 2018 with a view to helping raise thousands of euro for the local charity this year.
Cope Foundation supports 2,350 children and adults of every ability to live life to the full. The organisation works to enhance the lives of people with an intellectual disability and/or autism; working in partnership with them, their families and local communities to provide a range of person centred services and supports. Over the coming months, staff at Mater Private Cork will participate in, organise and support a number of fundraising events, beginning with the upcoming Flowers of Hope from the 9th to 30th April.
The CEO of Mater Private Hospital Cork, Donna Roche, said: “We are proud to support Cope Foundation, a Cork-based charity organisation that been committed to providing quality person-centred care to the people they support for over 60 years. At Mater Private Cork, it is also our goal to provide the highest quality acute healthcare to the patients we are privileged to serve by ensuring access to facilities and services. A dedicated team of staff from within the hospital will work on a range of projects for Cope Foundation in the hope that they will raise much needed funds for our Charity Partner in 2018.”
The first big fundraising event at Mater Private Cork, the Flowers of Hope Coffee Break, will take place on Thursday 26th April. Flowers of Hope pins and seeds will be on sale in the Mater Private Cork, SuperValu, Centra and other outlets throughout the month of April.
The Chief Executive of Cope Foundation, Sean Abbott, said: “We are delighted that the Mater Private Hospital Cork has chosen Cope Foundation as its Charity Partner for 2018. Everybody at Cope Foundation is looking forward to working with the Hospital team on some of our fundraising and awareness raising initiatives. This support means a lot to Cope Foundation and the timing of this partnership is perfect as we are currently rolling out our three year fundraising plan. Over the next three years, with the support of donors and corporate partners like the Mater Private Hospital, our fundraising initiatives will provide funding for person-centred resources and programmes that promote independence and choice for the people we support. We plan to fund exciting projects that support people to live life their way; encourage people to develop, learn and grow; support older persons to age with dignity; and allow people to experience new things and new places.”
