Speaker: Prof. Gareth J Morgan, Professor of Pediatric Cardiology at the University of Colorado, US.

Title: "The Future of Pulmonary Valve Replacement in Congenital Heart Disease"

Prof. Morgan completed his medical degree at the Queen’s University of Belfast in 1999. He then went on to specialize in pediatrics in the UK; being for a time the youngest holder of the MRCPCH qualification in the UK. Prof Morgan’s advanced fellowship in congenital interventional cardiology was performed in Toronto at the Hospital for Sick Children and Toronto General Hospital. After subspecializing and certifying in pediatric and adult congenital cardiology he was appointed in 2010 onto the staff of the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children and Bristol Heart institute and as an Hon Senior Lecturer at the University of Bristol. In 2013 he was recruited to Kings College London; Evelina London Children’s Hospital and Guys and St Thomas’ Hospitals as a Congenital Interventional Cardiologist. Prof Morgan was recruited onto the Pediatric and Adult Cardiology faculty of University of Colorado in 2016 and has been the Director of Interventional Congenital Cardiology at CU since 2019. He was promoted to the rank of Professor in 2022. He has vast experience in congenital heart disease specialising in innovative interventional catheter therapies for congenital and structural disease from fetal life to adulthood. Dr Morgan is a frequent invited speaker and faculty member at international conferences on pediatric and adult congenital heart disease. Prof. Morgan was recently elected a Fellow of the Society of Cardiac Angiography and Intervention; he is a founding Fellow of the PICS society and is a Co-director of the CSI meetings around the world. He was a founder and was secretary of the international young interventionists group (PICES) and sits on the ACHD research steering committee of SCAI. He has recently been made an associate editor of “Pediatric Cardiology” and is an associate editor of Cardiology in the Young. He is an inventor on 3 patents with more than 150 papers published in international peer-reviewed journals and several book chapters.
