Standards in Care

Meeting, maintaining and exceeding standards in care are an integral part of how we operate to ensure we are providing excellent clinical and personal care. We are JCI accredited which is considered the gold standard in global health care. Standards are applied to everything we do from delivering your treatment to how we maintain and manage our facility.

Your Care

We ensure the optimum treatment plan, best suited to your personal needs, is in place for you. During your treatment your progress is regularly reviewed by the clinical team and daily by the radiation therapists. If any changes are needed to enhance care plan or to adapt to your progress, we will discuss this with you. A nominated person can accompany you to consultations or to discuss your care with us on your behalf.

Your medical team – consultant, registrar, radiation therapist and nurse – attend a weekly in-house multi-disciplinary team meeting. Here doctors, nurses and other health care professionals agree how best to treat patients. This greatly benefits your care as your diagnosis and treatment options are fully reviewed by a wide panel of experts.

Preventing the Spread of Infection

We maintain high standards for infection control and ask you to actively participate in this:

  • Hand washing is the most effective way to prevent the spread of germs and infections. It is especially important after using the toilet or before touching any surgical site, to wash your hands.
  • Ask friends and family who have colds, stomach bugs or other infections not to visit the centre.
  • If you do get an infection, bug or cold, please let us know.

Patient Consent

It is our policy to obtain informed and written consent from you prior to starting treatment. If this is not possible consent will be requested from your guardian/next of kin. Once treatment starts, you have the right to refuse or discontinue treatment at any time.

All efforts are made to ensure your privacy. Your condition will only be discussed with you, anyone you have nominated and the healthcare team directly involved in your care.
