Mr James Cashman is a Consultant Orthopaedic surgeon at the Mater Private, Mater Misericordiae University Hospital and Cappagh National Orthopaedic Hospital. He graduated from University College Cork in 2001. Having undertaken his postgraduate training in Trauma and Orthopaedics under the auspices of the Irish National Orthopaedic training programme, he completed a hip and knee reconstructive fellowship at the Rothman Institute, Philadelphia, USA. He then completed a fellowship in the Young Adult Hip at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore, London. He has published numerous peer reviewed articles in basic science and clinical orthopaedics, as well as texts on hip and knee arthroplasty. His interests include primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty. He also has a further subspecialty interest in the Young Adult Hip, performing hip arthroscopy, pelvic and femoral osteotomies.
