Mr. Cawley previously worked as a Spine Surgeon at Tallaght University Hospital and the National Spinal Cord Unit at the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, Dublin. He started his surgical training in Ireland in 2005 and specialised in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery from 2011-2016. His specialist spinal surgery training has taken him to world renowned centres abroad including L’Institute de la Colonne Vertebrale, Bordeaux, France from 2016-2017 and the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore, London, UK from 2017-2018.
Mr. Cawley has also received several international awards and guest fellowships in Europe, including:

Clinical Research & Professional Memberships
Mr. Cawley has authored over 50 research papers which are mostly on topics in spinal conditions. He has also co-authored 4 book chapters and most recently co-edited a new book titled “Spinal Anatomy: Modern Concepts”. He is a committee member with the European Spine Society and remains an active contributor for the PatientLine resource for spine patients at https://www.eurospinepatientline.org. Mr. Cawley now works in close collaboration with the Department of Physiotherapy at University College Dublin and is a Programme Director for the Spinal Studies module on the UCD Masters Degree in Physiotherapy.
