Dr. Nicola Ralph is a Consultant Dermatologist with a specialist interest in inflammatory dermatology including acne, psoriasis and eczema. She is an honours graduate (MB BCh, 2004) of the Royal College of Surgeons, Ireland.
She undertook her specialist training in dermatology under the mentorship of Dr Gillian Murphy, Mater and Beaumont hospitals where she developed a keen interest in photodermatology. This led to her current undertaking of an MD, as principal investigator of a European Multicentre study on photopatch testing (2015 to date). She has a regular systemic clinic for patients on systemic therapies for inflammatory dermatoses and reviews patients at the National Photobiology Unit, which is the only unit in the country who can perform phototesting on patients with potential Ultraviolet related dermatoses.
Dr.Ralph was appointed as Consultant Dermatologist to the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital in 2014. She is a member of numerous dermatological societies including the European Society of Photodermatology and retains an active interest in post-graduate medical training and mentorship being highly involved in dermatology training of the North Inner City GP training scheme and organising and examining in the Diploma of Dermatology for the last seven years.
