Perfusionist - Staff Grade

The Mater Private Network have a current vacancy for a Perfusionist to join the hospital as part of the Heart and Vascular Centre.


The Perfusion Services department, provide Heart / Lung (Cardiopulmonary Bypass) facilities, enabling the performance of Cardiac Surgery over the total range of this specialty provided by the Hospital.


In addition to the total range of Cardiopulmonary Bypass, the Perfusionist Department provide Blood gas measurements, Hemofiltration, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump management, Red Blood Cell Salvage - Auto transfusion and other Blood management services, i.e. Platelet Rich Plasma, Fibrin glue, Invasive blood pressure monitoring for all Cardiac Surgical patients, and other specialised Perfusion services as required. The Perfusion Department also provide full Cardiopulmonary Bypass support to the Cardiology Department which includes standby for TAVI and other Structural Cardiology procedures.   


The Mater Private Perfusion Department is currently seeking a full-time Perfusionist to join our expanding team.
We work collaboratively within a highly effective multidisciplinary team which includes Cardiothoracic, Vascular surgeons, nursing staff, and intensivists, to provide high quality extracorporeal and Blood therapy support services to patients. 


Accreditation with the Society of Clinical Perfusion Scientists of Great Britain and Ireland, along with registration with the College of Clinical Perfusion Scientists of Great Britain and Ireland (or equivalent) is an essential requirement for this post.


Salary scale and on call rates are in line with Health Service Executive scales and subject to all Public Service Pay agreements. On call and Overtime premium rates are paid at HSE rates subject to Hospital agreements and are in addition to the basic salary.
