We have a vacancy for a chief medical scientist to join our laboratory management team in leading the development of our team and expansion of our service and hospital. Our medium-sized multidisciplinary laboratory provides the opportunity to enhance your leadership skills and knowledge and collaborate cross-functionally in the hospital and the wider organisation. 

Candidate requirements

• CORU-registered (or evidence of application in progress) medical scientist and eligible for Fellowship of the Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine
• Seven years’ experience in a medical laboratory post-qualification, at least four of which were spent in a promotional post
• Demonstrable mature and effective interaction with senior leadership and management
• Flexible, collaborative and committed to achievement of team and organisational objectives
• Patient-focused and influential with excellent communication skills
• Knowledge and experience of compliance with the ISO 15189 International Standard
• Knowledge and experience of risk management
• Experience of JCI hospital accreditation (desirable)
