Chest Pain Assessment Unit
Prompt assessment of patients presenting with recent onset of chest pain presumed to be cardiac in origin.
Established in 2003 as the only private unit of its kind in Ireland, the Mater Private Chest Pain Assessment Unit provides rapid access for patients with suspected cardiac chest pain to a comprehensive cardiology assessment. The aim of this service is to facilitate early risk stratification and initiation of appropriate treatment for patients newly diagnosed with angina. The Service also provides rapid access for patients with existing coronary disease and prompt assessment of patients presenting with symptoms suggestive of new onset or crescendo/unstable angina for the first time.
The Service is accessible via GP Referral and offers same day appointments for urgent patients running from 8am – 8pm.
