The Mater Private Specialist Breast Centre offers patients rapid access to assessment, diagnosis and treatment of breast disease in a single centre.
Patients attending the Mater Private Specialist Breast Centre can be assured that they will receive comprehensive, integrated treatment and excellent follow up care. The centre is a fully integrated operational unit within the Mater Private Hospital.
Mater Private Specialist Breast Centre services are provided by a team of specialists working in tandem to ensure best practise for the rapid diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer.
We offer rapid access to services delivered by a multidisciplinary team of specialists:
The Mater Private carries out approximately 4,000 mammograms and in the region of 1,500 breast ultrasounds each year. Each year the hospital diagnoses and treats over 200 women with breast cancer.
The Mater Private Hospital has been assessing, diagnosing and treating patients with breast disease for over 20 years across various departments. The Specialist Breast Centre is a bringing together of all of these services into one specific operational unit.Our expert breast care team includes consultant radiologists, consultant surgeons, radiographers and breast care nurses. We are all dedicated to providing exceptional patient care, offering easy access to assessment, diagnosis and treatment.
Staff at the Mater Private Specialist Breast Centre are aware that this can be a worrying and stressful time for you and your family. Our aim is to keep you fully up to date and involved in your treatment decisions. The Breast Care Nurse is available throughout your entire journey to answer any questions or help you in any way.

Charges
Charges can vary depending on your planned procedures and/or insurance cover. Please call us in advance to confirm charges, which may be payable on the day.
Mammogram, ultrasound and consultant surgeon fees are payable on the day you attend. These expenses can be submitted as part of your outpatient claim to your insurer
Should you require a biopsy or fine needle aspiration, depending on your level of insurance cover, this may be covered directly by your insurer
If you do not have private health insurance all charges are payable on the day you attend Information on tax
