Support Services

The Cancer Information and Support Centre is located on the grounds of the Cancer Centre. This centre offers access to information booklets, counselling services, complementary therapies, support groups and a drop in centre for patients and their families. Please contact a member of staff if you wish to avail of any of these supports.

Patient support is available from medical and nursing staff on site at the centre and also through the wider cancer services support system.

Direct referral is available to the following:

• Dietician
• Social worker
• Clinical psychologist
• Complementary therapists
• Cancer Information and Support centre
• Palliative Care Team

Local Support Groups

Women’s Support Group and Men’s Support Group meetings are held in the Cancer Information and Support Centre.  For details contact 061 485163

Pastoral Care

There is a full time catholic pastoral care team in the main hospital. There are also ministers from other denominations visiting regularly. Please contact a member of our team if you wish to access this service. There is a chapel located in the main hospital, please ask at reception for directions.
